Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Reese line of Strait-Line weight distribution systems with sway control. This is what our kit's gonna look like installed. As you can see, we've got our head here fully active weight distribution system, but also active sway control, so if you're in the first group of customers, you don't have a weight distribution system at all right now. You've got a lot of squat on the back of your truck and the front of your trailer. The rear suspension's doing a lot of extra work, and the front axle on your trailer's gonna be doing a lot of extra work. With these bars being fixed mounted to our head, as we draw those up it's just like lifting up the back of a wheelbarrow. more

Reese SC Weight Distribution System with Sway Control Review- Video
Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Reese SC weight distribution system with sway control, part number RP66153. What I like about this system as opposed to other weight distribution systems is it's gonna have brake like material that's gonna cause friction on your spring bar. Now what that's for is for your sway control. That's gonna eliminate the need for an additional sway set up, which is gonna smoothen your ride going down the road.Another thing that's good about this system as opposed to others is you don't have to get out of your vehicle to unhook anything to back up your trailer, you can back it up the way it is. Some of the other ones you have to get out and unhook the additional bar.Now this is gonna be very simple to adjust, you're just gonna loosen your two bolts and you can see the teeth that are in here, once you loosen that you can adjust your ball forwards or backwards and set it where needed. Now this setup's gonna have an 800 pound max tongue weight and a 10,000 pound max trailer weight. more

Pro Series Trunnion Style Weight Distribution Road Test- Video
We have a trailer hooked up to our truck. First we'll take out on our test course without weight distribution. We're only traveling at 30 miles per hour. Note the excess sway and lack of control and also how much the trailer is bouncing up and down when we're going over bumps. Now with our Pro-Series Weight Distribution installed, we will take it out on our test course again. You can see how the system corrects the trailer sway and we now have more control of the vehicle and trailer combination. more

These are going to be your tapered trunnion style spring bars that are going to flex appropriately over uneven terrain for a controlled, even ride, and you can adjust the spring bar tension by switching the links in the lift chains to fine tune your system. When it comes to getting the desired tilt that you need for your application, that's going to be achieved with a serrated washer design. There's going to be teeth in these large washers on each side that line up with the teeth in the head assembly. more

Pro Series Trunnion Style Weight Distribution Kit Review- Video
Today we're going to be taking a look at the Pro Series Trunnion Style Weight Distribution Kit with Shank, rated for a 1,200 pound tongue weight, and a 12,000 gross trailer weight, part number 49587. Now, we'll show you some footage of the vehicle and trailer out on the road, both with and without weight distribution system. Without the weight distribution system, you can see that it's kind of bouncy, and although the truck does an all right job of pulling this trailer, it creates a bit rougher ride, because there at the hitch it acts as a fulcrum, and it allows it to bounce, and creates a little bit of sway to where it just feels a little bit unstable. With the weight distribution system, as we go over the same section of road and his those bumps, you can see that it's keeping the trailer much more level, and as we hit them, it doesn't feel like as much sway, and therefore not nearly as bouncy, and a smoother ride. Driving this truck both before and after the weight distribution system, there's a very noticeable difference. Driving the truck just feels a lot easier, because it doesn't feel like that trailer is affecting you nearly as much as you're going down the road. Here we've got the truck and trailer without a weight distribution system attached. As you can see, the rear of the truck is squatting down, and therefore the front of the trailer is much lower than the rear of the trailer, which creates for unsafe driving because the front of the truck is lifted up higher, therefore taking pressure off those front wheels, making steering and handling more difficult. more

Now again, this one's going to have integrated 4 point sway control which is really going to help limit side to side movement of your trailer. We're going to have these brackets right here that are going to keep the spring bars in place for a rigid system that holds the trailer in line at all times. This unit does not use lift chains so that way the spring bars aren't able to move freely, they're going to be held in place and they're going to slide back and forth, which is going to create steel on steel friction. Down here we're going to have 2 points of sway control that are created by the steel on steel friction that occurs when the spring bars slide within these L-brackets that are mounted on the trailer tongue. Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution Installation - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Curt TruTrack weight distribution system with complete sway control. Part number is C17500. The Curt TruTrack weight distribution system is going to use spring bars to brackets here to help distribute that weight that we're getting on this rear up through all the axles, the axles on our trailer, and the two axles on our truck. What makes this kind of unique is we've eliminated the chains, so we're not going to get that unwanted movement that we sometimes get out of our spring bars when they're connected with the chains, to where they'll kind of move side to side. That's going to help us with tracking, but also with the bracket system it holds this rigid back here, so that that movement's gone. It's eliminating some of that sway. Also here in the front, we've got the small ball detent. This is designed to sit into a pocket right here. more

Now the weight distribution is designed for a 12,000 pound trailer and with a ton of weight of 1,200 pounds. First, well go ahead and cover our components that you get with this part number. You get the head assembly here, the spring arms, the fall spring arms down, down to the tool cam sway control located right here.
